Gearing up for Culture Night

Astronomers and astronomy students have been training and checking the telescopes in preparation for Culture night.  The forecast looks good and we hope to get lots of visitors that want to look through the telescopes and marvel at the Universe.

Astronomy on Culture Night 2024:

Kl 11.00 - 19.00 :  Ljusets mörkare sida

The Lund University Planetarium premiers with a new show (in Swedish) about how our cities and homes are lit at night and how this light affects us.  Not only does it become difficult to see stars at night, but we are also affecting animal behavior and our own health.

Kl 19.00 - 20.00+ :  Supermassive Black Holes

The Lund University Planetarium premiers with a new show (in English) about Black Holes and the Supermassive Black Holes lurking at the center of distant galaxies.

Kl 20.00 - 22.30 :  Stargazing at Lund Observatory

Once the sun has gone down astronomers and astronomy students will bring out the telescopes and open their doors to public visitors wanting to observe the night sky.
