Stargazing on Culture Night

Are you interested in Stargazing on Culture Night? Registration starts on September 15th at noon!
It is truly amazing how often we have clear skies on Culture Night here in Lund. And every time we do the astronomers invite members of the public to come to the observatory to look into space using our telescopes.
Are you interested? This is how it works:
- On this website you can register interest in Stargazing on Culture Night as of September 15th at Noon.
- The astronomers will go through all registrations and assign people to observing slots. We have six timeslots available, with the first one starting at 21:00 and a new one starting every half an hour thereafter.
- We will contact all who registered and inform them which timeslot they are assigned to (trying to prioritise families with children during the first hour), and inform those who did not get a timeslot that they are on the reserve list.
We should probably point out that:
- It will be dark and only red and faint lights are permitted on the observing platform. Your eyes will get used to the dark.
- The event takes place at night in September, we recommend warm clothes.
- We will send out information regarding the weather and let people know if the event can go ahead or if it has to be cancelled due to clouds (or rain).

Fall 2026 stargazing events
If the skies are clear and we can go stargazing then we will invite people to the telescope on Culture Night - which falls on Saturday, September 19th this year.
Note that registering interest for Culture Night is handled separately from other stargazing events we arrange.
