I am an assistant professor (VR FoAss) at the Department of Astronomy and Theoretical physics at Lund university, the very same place where I obtained my PhD in 2004 (thesis). Before coming back to Lund I worked as an ESO fellow at the European Southern Observatory where I served as a support astronomer on the Very Large Telescope (VLT) at the Paranal observatory in northern Chile for 3.5 years. Before ESO I spent three years as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, USA.  My research focus on the origin and evolution of stellar populations and kinematical structures in the Milky Way (more on research).
