When not writing in Latin, Tycho mostly uses the name Uraniburg. In rare cases he writes Uranienburg. In Latin he calls his observatory Uraniburgum, and declines it consequently Uraniburgi, Uraniburgo, etc. Even if Tycho uses the name Uraniburg also in Danish, it seems reasonable to spell it Uraniborg in Danish and Swedish, since "borg" is the Nordic word for "burg". Below is a coloration of a drawing of Uraniburg in Tycho's publications.

Neither Uraniburg nor his in 1584 constructed complementary instrument platform Stellæburg (or Stjärneborg) has been preserved. They are today found merely as cavities. However, interesting reconstructions have been performed at the place, which lately have made it attractive and popular.
