Planetary systems

The work on planets at Lund Observatory focuses on extrasolar planets. In particular we study the formation of exoplanets in gaseous protoplanetary discs and the stability and survivability of planetary systems. Other interests include the actual physical conditions required for the evolution of life. The work on stellar physics with emphasis on line shifts and 3D modelling also has an impact on the searches for exoplanets.
